The South African
wine industry has come of age, a culmination and celebration of
350 years of a winemaking tradition which has its roots in the Old
World and its unique vibrancy in the New. To celebrate 350 years
of South African wine making various events are planned for the
2nd of February 2009. The main event will be hosted by Groot Constantia
Estate (South Africa’s oldest winery). Details available at

The Cape winelands, considered by many to be the most beautiful
in the world, are located in the Cape Floral Kingdom, the smallest
yet richest plant kingdom on earth, with its wealth of flora and
fauna, and abundant birdlife. The four regions encompass a network
of 16 diverse and well-run wine routes, affording visitors a varied
and unforgettable experience. Award-winning wines, a variety of
events and festivals, a wide range of activities from hiking to
mountain biking and whale watching, world-class accommodation, cutting-edge
restaurants, designer golf courses and stunning scenery are all
part of the enticing mix.
